He was born in Moscow on December 4, 1866 (on December 16 to the Gregorian calendar) In 1870 he moved with his family to Odessa. From 1886 to 1889 he studied law in Moscow,graduating in 1892 and later that year he decided to marry his cousin Anja ฤimiakin, who had met at the University and with whom he had established a relationship of great understanding and intellectual affinity.
He studied art in Monaco of Bavaria under Franz von Stuck. He settled in the district of Schwabing, in the bosom of a large community of artists, Russian revolutionaries, musicians, writers and creative people ingeneral.
In 1912 he held his first solo exhibition in the gallery Der Sturm in Berlin. Kandinsky will return to Moscow and remained there until 1921. As of the October Revolution, Kandinsky performed administrative work for thePeople’s Commissariat for Education; between projects are the foundation of various museums and the reform of the education system towards the Art Schools
In 1917 he married Nina Andreevsky, the daughter of a general, and in the same year born the son Volodia, but he died in 1920 just three years old.
